Shri Padam Lal Negi joined as Government Nominee Director of Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) on 27th February, 2023.

He joined the Government of India in the Defence Accounts Department as an Indian Defence Accounts Service Officer of 1992 batch on 08.01.1993. During his tenure in Defence Accounts, he held various positions. From 1994 to 2003, he served as Assistant Controller and Deputy Controller in the offices of then CDA (NC), Jammu, CDA (WC), Chandigarh, and CDA (AF), Dehradun. Between 2003 and 2005, he worked as Joint Controller in the office of Defence Accounts Controller (Pension Disbursement), Meerut Cantt. Later, he served as Additional Defence Accounts Controller in CDA (Funds), Meerut from 2005 to 2008.

From 2008 to 2013, Shri Negi was Director in the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, followed by his tenure as Integrated Financial Advisor (IFA) at Andaman Nicobar Command from 2013 to 2015. He then served as Defence Accounts Controller (Integrated Defence Staff), New Delhi till 2018. Furthermore, he was the Integrated Financial Advisor (BR) at Delhi Cantt from 2018 to 2023. On 10th January, 2023, he was appointed as Joint Secretary & Financial Adviser in the Ministry of Civil Aviation and on 11th January, 2023, he was assigned additional charge as Joint Secretary & Financial Adviser in the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy.

He has made notable contributions throughout his career. He served as the in-charge officer for the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra (Nov 2023–Jan 2024) in Balrampur and Surajpur districts of Chhattisgarh. He participated in Mission Karmayogi and completed all mandatory courses, securing first rank in the Ministry of Civil Aviation. He has visited all vibrant villages (approx. 75) of Himachal Pradesh. He was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation by the Border Roads Development Board, Government of India, in 2021. Additionally, he received the Individual Excellence Award in the All India DAD Volleyball Tournament held in Kanpur in 1999. Academically, Shri Negi holds a B.A. degree in English, Political Science, Sociology, and Urdu from Govt. College, Sector 11, Chandigarh (Panjab University, 1988). He has also earned an M.A. in Political Science (1990) and an M.A. in Sociology (1992) from Panjab University, Chandigarh.
