The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI), under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), plays a central role in India’s renewable energy mission by acting as an intermediary between renewable power developers and power distribution companies (DISCOMs). SECI signs Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) with renewable energy developers and corresponding Power Sale Agreements (PSAs) with DISCOMs across various states. These PSAs ensure the distribution of solar, wind, and hybrid power to DISCOMs, enabling them to meet Renewable Purchase Obligations (RPOs) and ensure affordable clean energy supply to their consumers. SECI’s engagement with DISCOMs spans across India, covering both state-owned utilities and regional power distribution entities.
